Policy Statement

Richmindale ensures that students complete courses in a timely manner to demonstrate that they are successfully working toward their degrees. Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is measured using three metrics:

GPA Standard

Course functions such as announcements, gradebooks, assignments, quizzes, and exams are all accessed within the learning management system used, which is Google Classroom. Moreover, individual programs and courses may have additional technical and/or software requirements. Contact the instructor for additional information on their requirements.

Maximum Time Frame for Degree Completion

Students must complete their degree within a specified maximum time frame. Students must not exceed the maximum attempted credit hour limit for the degree program. All transfer credits are included in this measurement. Students can work with their academic advisor and make a plan to complete their degree without exceeding their maximum credit hours.

A student must complete his or her degree within 150 percent of the prescribed length of the program. The maximum time frame is measured in terms of credits. For instance, for a BBA program, 120 credit hours are required to graduate. So, the maximum time frame to complete the degree is 180 credits. The number of credits that is required varies by program.

Attempted credits will include earned credits (passed), repeated courses, withdrawal, failures, incomplete grade, and transfer credits.

Pace Rate Standard

Students must demonstrate that they are progressing through their program at a pace that will guarantee graduation within the maximum time frame prescribed. Students must pass at least 67% of their total attempted credits in their current degree program. Earned credits include passed grades and transferred credits.

SAP evaluations are conducted at the end of each academic year and cannot take place until final grades have been posted. This SAP review will determine academic eligibility for the upcoming school year. Students are reviewed annually until graduation.

Freshmen students who will transfer to Richmindale College will be evaluated after their first semester. Students will be notified of their failure to meet the SAP standards.
